Events

Throughout my education, I have had the privilege of being a part of various events, taking on different positions to contribute to their success. I have embraced the opportunity to diversify my skills and experiences. These following events have equipped me with a strong understanding of event planning from both organizational and operational perspectives, making me a versatile professional in the field.

Soundscape Concert

As a member of the Music and Entertainment Industry Student Association (MEISA) at JWU, I had the opportunity of being the Artist Liaison and Social Media Manager for the highly anticipated Soundscape Concert. This event held great significance for our club, as it marked our first concert since pre-COVID, reigniting the vibrant music scene on campus. With a line-up featuring three artists,  fellow JWU students and local Latin/Hip-Hop Rapper A-Fue, this event brought in 130 attendees.  The Instagram account reached an engagement of 2.3k, increasing followers by 27%. 

10th Annual SEEM Leadership Conference

The Sports, Entertainment, and Event Management (SEEM) Leadership Conference was founded is a student-run and student-produced event that captures the spirit of the experiential-based educational mission of Johnson & Wales University.  This dynamic event provides attendees with exposure to powerful leaders within the field of sports, entertainment, and events. The one-day conference hosts an engaging keynote address, networking functions, and distinguished panel discussions from seasoned industry professionals.

As a member of the operations team, I contributed to the team's efforts of developing and managing the event script, floor plans, and catering coordination. Collaborating with the JWU catering team on menus and themes. In addition, my team and I worked closely with the Director of Student Engagement to develop and manage the registration website. This event was followed by a SEEM Alumni Evening Reception honoring and celebrating the SEEM professionals of the year.  

Leadership & Management Expo

The Leadership & Management Expo is a student-run and student-produced career fair presented by the International Exhibitions & Events Class. This event serves as a platform for companies to engage with prospective talent and provided students with invaluable networking opportunities. My role involved researching and recruiting exhibitors, facilitating their onboarding process through proposal submissions and contracts. This event showcased 30 exhibitors and attracted 120 students in attendance. Alongside my team, I collaborated on crafting exhibitor packets, highlighting key event details and essential information for smooth day of show logistics.

Not Your Dads Music Festival

Not Your Dads Music Festival is a student-run and student-produced event by the Concert Production Class. I assumed the role of Social Media Manager, utilizing platforms like Canva to craft visually appealing posts while maintaining consistent branding across all channels. With a lineup featuring four artists, including a band, our festival brought in 230 attendees. The Instagram page reached an engagement of 2.2k. From promotion to execution, the dedication and creativity shone through, amplifying the festival experience and reinforcing its position as a highlight of our campus calendar.
